Helpful information for Ford PAS teachers
We like to share best practices and classroom experiences with others implementing Ford PAS. Please be sure to always begin each semester by enrolling students on the Ford PAS website. That way, your students will have opportunities for future scholarships, awards, and networking possibilities. Student consent forms should always be filled out and kept on file with the coordinator. Coordinated Learning Experiences
Most Ford PAS modules integrate CLEs into students’ learning, and the Ford PAS Web site lists possible CLEs for each module. In addition to field trips, CLEs include speaker and expert visits to classrooms, as well as mentoring and job-shadowing experiences. The Business/Education Advisory Council (BEAC) for your program may be able to help with fundraising efforts to cover transportation and other costs associated with field trips. CLEs are considered essential components of the Ford PAS program, however, and we encourage you to make every effort to assure that students have a range of these experiences.

Your local Ford PAS coordinator
My name is Kate Soderstrom and I am the Ford PAS coordinator for West Bloomfield school district in West Bloomfield, Michigan. After attending Hanover College and American University in London in a business program, I decided to change educational paths. I enrolled in the Technical Manufacturing school at Purdue University to participate in their co-op program. I began working for Cummins Engine Company and while still in school had the opportunity for hands-on learning. After graduation from Purdue, I moved to Michigan working for General Motors as a Quality Engineer. I functioned first as a first line supervisor and then continued my career as a quality engineer, remaining with the auto industry for 5 years. After taking off several years as a full time Mom to three small children, I decided to merge my industrial expertise with educational and work withthe Ford PAS program in the West Bloomfield school district as Ford PAScoodinator. It could not have been a more perfect fit for everyone involved! I been able to share her knowledge and experience with the students, the community and the District by leveraging resources, grant dollars and opportunities for the educational advancement of all.
I work and live here in West Bloomfield and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I will be glad to help.
